The Bradford Pear trees are blooming along McIntire Road.
Bookstores and restaurants have the Festival posters in their windows.
People are walking around the mall, reading the Daily Progress schedule and looking around for venues.

I hear the Flashbacks dance band is busy practicing mood music for the annual Festival luncheon on Thursday, March 19, including “I Could Write A Book” and “My Funny Valentine” in honor of guest speaker Adriana Trigiani, author of “Very Valentine.”

I get my first travel manifest from the official Book Festival travel agent so I can see how many authors will need rides to and from the airport or the train station and start making the Excel spread sheets to record which volunteer drivers will take care of each of them.

Bookmarks are blooming in Alderman Library, Nancy’s garden is untended as she tends to Festival details, and we hear the bluster of organization with the March of volunteers upstairs.

My committee members are asking for postponements of meetings so they can attend. Folks are asking when my mother-in-law arrives from North Carolina to attend. And I keep checking my calendar to see how I can rearrange around favored speakers.
